This slide discusses the LTC3355’s performance advantages versus a “build your own” solution. It is a monolithic solution, all functions are integrated for seamless, autonomous backup operation. The LTC3355 offers a single SCap solution with no balancers or protection shunts needed, plus all reverse blocking and SuperCap protection built-in. PFO, CAPGOOD, and RST pin open drain outputs are provided for reliable system operation, as well as input ILIM for fast charge times and to avoid overloading the input supply. Low voltage boost backup operation maximizes use of stored energy in the SCap. It is the smallest solution with simplicity and ease-of-use.
