IRange-Slide4

The types of electrical functions available within APEM’s I Range include those listed in this table. In Off-On switches, the terminals of a circuit are either connected, creating a closed state, or disconnected, creating an open state. When the switch is activated, the state of the circuit is reversed. Normally open (NO) switches contain a circuit at rest in an open state which is closed only momentarily during activation. As soon as the actuator is released, this type of switch returns to its normally open state. In normally closed plus normally open (NC + NO) switches, there are two circuits that share a common connection, one circuit in an open state, the other closed. Activation reverses the states of the circuits. Although NC + NO functionality can be found in latching switches, this option is available only in momentary versions of APEM’s I Range family. Normally Closed/Normally Open (NC/NO) switches are similar to NC + NO except that the two circuits are electrically independent, providing an additional safeguard. NC/NO is available only in momentary versions in the I Range family.
