Diodes presents their AL3353 IC, which is a 40-volt boost LED controller that provides a high-performance backlight solution with a low-BOM cost. Available in the SO-8 package, this highly-integrated and cost-effective LED controller is optimized for monitor and TV LED backlighting applications. The device contains a PWM boost driver which uses current mode control with fixed frequency operation to regulate the LED current. For dimming applications, it offers PWM-to-analog dimming conversion for a wide range of dimming control. Other features include a wide input voltage range, a high-precision feedback reference voltage, and comprehensive protection features including overvoltage, undervoltage, over temperature, over current, and various shorting protections. Applications include commercial LED lighting, LCD TVs and monitors, flat panel displays, and others.
