ODU MEDI-SNAP® IEC Connectors
ODU MEDI-SNAP® configurations are IEC 60601-1, 2 MOPP, and 2 MOOP compliant
The ODU MEDI-SNAP is a lightweight and cost-efficient plastic circular connector with high chemical resistance, which offers a highly reliable solution for various medical applications. This autoclavable connector is available with user-friendly push-pull locking and the easy-to-release breakaway function with up to 5,000 mating cycles depending on the housing style.
The IEC 60601-1 medical standard requires the devices and their components to provide the maximum level of protection from electric shock, both for patients and operators.
Five of the IEC 60601-1 compliant ODU MEDI-SNAP receptacles already fulfill the requirements in mated condition for the highest level of patient and operator protection (2 MOPP and 2 MOOP). The other receptacles provide one means of protection for patients (1 MOPP) and further achieve 2 MOOP when teamed with power supplies that have a means of protection installed in them.
For additional connections, the ODU MEDI-SNAP series includes the 5-pin breakaway connector and the 3-pin push-pull connector, which are specialized connectors with modified insulation pin layouts capable of achieving 2 MOPP and 2 MOOP.
