Vishay performed a circuit level test comparison of the MTPL-2516-S12V hybrid planar transformer to a traditional PQ26/20 bobbin wound design. The part sizes were chosen with equal footprint and board area and similar overall unit volume. Both parts were driven in a full bridge configuration with an input voltage of 115 V at a frequency of 156 kHz and an output voltage of 12 V at 175 W.
