CUI VX78 and VXO78 DC Switching Regulators | DigiKey Daily

CUI’s VX78 and VXO78 are low-cost, next-generation switching regulators that are pin-compatible replacements for linear regulators, but are much more efficient. The encapsulated VX78 series and open frame VXO78 series are available in common output voltages with output current up to 1 A, and can also be used in negative output applications. They are footprint compatible with LM78xx and LM79xx regulators, but are up to 96% efficient, and this high efficiency also means there’s no need for a heatsink. The VX78 and VXO78 have a wide input range, provide short circuit protection, and are ideal for portable devices and space-constrained embedded designs that require high energy efficiency.
