Ligna Energy’s journey began with big 'wood batteries', meant to be storing energy from solar or windmill parks. That is where their name comes from, "Ligna" translates to "woods" in Latin. In 2021 a strategic decision was made and the team shifted focus towards thin and small bio-based supercapacitors for connected electronic devices. Since their inception, Ligna has been committed to revolutionizing the creation and application of products that store electric energy, initially in the energy sector and later in wireless electronics.
