The construction of the Bourns® AMS22S non-contacting analog rotary position sensor is shown in the exploded view on this slide. A couple of areas to highlight are the sintered bronze bushing and the shaft retention features. Rotational cycle testing has shown that this bushing design performs extremely well even when a side load is applied to the shaft. Testing was conducted with a 250 gram side load applied perpendicular to the shaft axis, and tested to 50 million shaft revolutions with no evidence of degradation in electrical output. The shaft design which includes a c-clip and retaining ring ensure that the shaft will not suffer damage from push-in or pull-out axial forces under normal operation. The Bourns® AMS22S non-contacting Hall Effect sensor is equipped with three solder lug terminals that accept standard female quick-disconnect connectors.
